Characteristics and scope of application:
ASTM1045 is a medium carbon high quality steel with high strength. Due to the poor hardenability, it is generally used in normal fire condition. Cold deformation plasticity medium, annealing and normalizing the machinability ratio of the good. ASTM1045 is used for manufacturing parts with high strength requirements, such as gear, shaft, piston pin and other mechanical parts, forgings, stamping parts and bolts, nuts and pipe joints.

Carbon C: 0.43 ~ 0.50.
Si: 0.17 ~ 0.37.
Mn: 0.60 ~ 0.90.
S: sulfur 0.050 or less
P P: 0.040 or less
Chromium Cr: 0.25 or less
Ni Ni: 0.25 or less
Copper Cu: 0.25 or less
Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength: b (MPa) : greater than or equal to 600(61)
Yield strength: s (MPa) : greater than 355(36)
The elongation is 5 (%) : greater than or equal to 16.
The reduction rate of the cross section (%) : greater than or equal to 40.
Impact work Akv (J) : greater than or equal to 39.
Impact toughness value (J/cm2) : greater than 49(5)
Hardness: no heat treatment, no more than 229HB; Annealing steel, 197 hb or less
Sample size: the sample size is 25mm.
Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure:
Heat treatment specification: fire, 850 ºC; Quenching, 840 ºC; Tempering, 600 ºC.
Delivery status: to be delivered without heat treatment or heat treatment (annealing, normalizing or high tempering). It is required to indicate in the contract that the goods should be delivered in the form of heat treatment.
